For Children, Teens, and Adults
Lumera Healthcare provides licensed therapy services across Paducah, Murray, and Mayfield, KY.
Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, or something harder to name – our compassionate team is here, close to home.
Getting mental health support in rural Western Kentucky has never been easy. Providers are spread out. Wait times stretch on. And for a lot of people here, asking for help at all takes more courage than most people realize – because in a small community, everybody knows everybody.
At Lumera Healthcare, we built our therapy services specifically for this region. Our licensed therapists understand the pressures of rural life, the weight of family obligation, and the stigma that still surrounds mental health in tight-knit communities. You won’t be talking to someone who has to Google where McCracken County is.
Whether you’re a parent holding everything together while quietly falling apart, a teenager who can’t explain what’s wrong, or someone who has tried therapy before and didn’t find the right fit – there’s a place here for you.
We accept all major insurance, including: Medicaid, Medicare, commercial, and self-pay.
Absolutely changed my whole life, thank you Lumera. They believed in me when I couldn’t and wouldn’t. Now I’m unstoppable at my recovery and mental health. I highly recommend the Intensive outpatient program it saved my life.

Lumera Healthcare has been a life saver for me. I began seeing Lumera Healthcare about a year and a half ago for management of major depression and anxiety. They have gone out of their way to ensure I had the medication & therapy I needed.

Children carry big feelings they often don't have the words for. Our therapists work with kids using approaches built for how children actually process and communicate - including play therapy and other child-focused methods. The goal is a space where your child feels safe, heard, and genuinely supported rather than managed.
We also coordinate with schools when appropriate, which matters in a region where educators are often the first to notice a child is struggling.

The teenage years have always been hard. Right now they're harder. Our therapy services for teens include individual therapy, group therapy, and our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for teens dealing with anxiety, depression, substance use, or behavioral health challenges.
We work with teens where they are - not where we think they should be.

Life's demands pile up in ways that can be hard to talk about - especially when you're the one everyone else is leaning on. Our adult therapy services cover everything from individual anxiety and depression treatment to couples therapy, family sessions, and support for people navigating addiction recovery. Evidence-based approaches. Real conversations. No judgment.
We also serve adults through our psychiatry team for situations where therapy alone may not be enough. Your therapist and psychiatrist work from the same treatment plan.
We’ve kept the process short on purpose. Here’s what happens after you reach out.
Takes a few minutes. We ask enough to understand your situation, nothing more.
With appointment time options that work for your schedule. You don't have to chase us down.
This covers permission to treat and insurance information so we can handle billing on our end.
A conversation with a Lumera clinician to understand your needs and match you with the right therapist. Low pressure, no expectations beyond showing up.
Lumera Healthcare holds CARF accreditation – a rigorous, third-party quality review that most behavioral health providers in the region don’t have. It means our programs, our clinical processes, and our outcomes are held to internationally recognized standards. You can verify our accreditation at carf.org.
Most mental health providers operate in silos. Your therapist doesn’t know what your psychiatrist prescribed. Your prescriber hasn’t read your therapy notes.
At Lumera, therapy and psychiatry sit inside the same organization – which means your care team actually coordinates. When your treatment needs to shift, everyone adjusts together.
Our therapists are Kentucky-licensed clinicians – not a rotating roster of contractors or a telehealth platform staffed by people who’ve never been to Western Kentucky.
They understand what life looks like here: the family pressures, the limited resources, the very real stigma around asking for help in a small community.
We accept Medicaid, Medicare, and most major commercial insurance plans. For patients without adequate coverage, self-pay rates and a sliding scale fee program based on family size and income are available. Cost should not be the reason someone goes without care.

Therapy involves regular sessions with a licensed therapist – talk-based treatment focused on thoughts, behaviors, emotions, and coping strategies.
Psychiatry involves evaluation and management by a psychiatric provider, which may include medication when clinically appropriate.
At Lumera, both services operate under one roof and your providers coordinate on your care. Some patients receive therapy only; others receive both therapy and psychiatric services depending on their clinical needs.

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It’s an evidence-based therapy approach used primarily for trauma and PTSD, though it has applications for anxiety and other conditions as well.
Lumera Healthcare offers EMDR therapy through trained clinicians. If you’re interested in EMDR specifically, mention it when you call or fill out the appointment form and we’ll match you with an appropriate provider.
