When I started Lumera I was a broken version of myself, convinced drugs were going to be a part of my everyday life. Coming into my first appointment, Susan greeted me at the front desk. From the moment she spoke, I knew I wasn’t alone and that there was HOPE. Susan and Randy made me feel no less than a human being and reminded me that my mistakes don’t define me. As my time with Lumera’s IOP comes to a close, the relationships, things I’ve learned, and the person they’ve helped me become will stay with me the rest of my recovering life.
Lumera showed me another way of dealing with issues that has haunted me for the past 39 years. I’m 53 years old and never imagined or wanted to become a recovering addict. Ned and Randy have played a big role in helping me understand and open my mind to new techniques and ways to change the power of my thinking.

Before starting IOP I was lost, sad, and broken. I was a mess. Through Lumera IOP and the staff, I was able to ground myself and get held accountable. Today, I can hold my head high with a smile on my face. I am very grateful! Thanks again to Susan, Ash, Mark, and Randy!
It was hard at first; I wanted to blame everyone else. Lumera gave me tools to learn and succeed. I’m taking all that I have learned with me. I’d like to thank my Substance counselor and IOP teachers!

I was getting lost again with a relapse and knew exactly where to go: Lumera Healthcare. From feeling welcome by Susan to talking with Randy and Ned, I really felt I could open up to them and tell them the truth. I ALWAYS got positive guidance from them. I’ve made so many great relationships through Lumera, both employees and other clients. Lumera Healthcare is the way to go!
I am so thankful that life led me to finding this program and choosing Lumera to participate at. When I first started this program, I wasn’t thrilled because I tend to be quiet and reserved, not easily opening up in group settings. A few weeks into the program and I was feeling more comfortable and confident that it was a safe space to open up and discuss different aspects of my life. I have made some really good friends during my time with Lumera Healthcare. I have also had the best counselors and employees supporting me on my journey. I know that being a recovering addict is a lifelong process, but this program has given me the tools and coping methods to remain hopeful that I will continue on the right path.
I had done drugs my whole life, leading to being in and out of jail/rehab. Lumera Healthcare is a very good place to be if you feel like you might use. There were others who used to be in the same situation as me, now clean and sober. I made great friends who I could talk to and that held me accountable. The staff is amazing; they have been very helpful. If you need a ride, they also have transportation. I feel good being clean and my life has changed for the better. I now have resources so I never have to use again. One day at a time, thanks Lumera!
I started having some trouble in college because the workload was so tough. Eventually, I started antidepressants and therapy. My therapist (at a different company) was good to talk to but didn’t really give me the tools or coping skills to help my situation. I eventually stopped going to that therapist. About a year later I was admitted to the hospital for self-harm. That was a big wake up call for me. I got back into therapy, this time with Lumera Healthcare. I have worked through a lot of my insecurities, negative thoughts, and self harm urges with the help of my new therapist. I didn’t think it was possible to feel good about being discharged from therapy, but I do. I am ready to approach life with a new perspective!
